What is an MVP

An MVP is the first iteration of your product, developed with
minimal investment and in an accelerated timeline, delivering just
the right amount of features and technology support to prove the
value proposition, validate understanding and secure client
engagement.
A successful MVP will: β€’ Deliver enough of the use case to warrant implementation by
your client – a solution that solves only 1 or 2 steps in a process or
provides minimal insight is unlikely to get picked up for pilot
β€’ Have a clear way to deliver on those features / integrations not
delivered on a first release (e.g. data transfers)
β€’ Have a clear understanding on how the application fits your client
users’ day to day job
In the McKinsey context (or any enterprise grade context), an MVP
will have to:
β€’ Implement all security measures that correlate to data sensitivity,
to protect our clients data (e.g. encryption, second factor
authentication, etc.)
β€’ Implement an infrastructure capable of supporting an enterprise
client’s needs, including uptime and recovery times.i
